Lynn Ingrid Nelson has over 30 years of experience in public relations, public affairs and communications. She has extensive experience in virtually all facets of organizational communications, with a strong suit in media relations and strategic communications.

Prior to launching LIN PR in 1993, Lynn directed employee and client communications, as well as community and media relations for American Express Financial Advisors (now Ameriprise) in Minneapolis.

Lynn has worked with many of her clients for more than 10 years, including Fredrikson & Byron, a large business law firm in Minneapolis. She has led a variety of PR campaigns, including on behalf of Visit Cook County (Minn.), and the American CraftCouncil’s St. Paul Show, which draws more than 10,000 visitors each year.

In 2014, LIN Public Relations was a PRSA-Minnesota finalist for its work on behalf of the Women’s Leadership TRUST, and Lynn was a speaker at the PRSA Midwest District Conference in Springfield, Missouri.

From 1999-2009, she taught strategic communications as an adjunct instructor at the School of Journalism & Mass Communication at the University of Minnesota. She is the author of Getting Your Life into Balance, and has presented on managing time intentionally to professional groups throughout the Midwest.




Kristen (a native of Minnesota) joined the LIN Public Relations firm during the fall of 2014 as a public relations assistant. Her PR expertise has grown significantly through the years.

As senior public relations associate, Kristen’s focus is on client satisfaction, first and foremost. She provides clients’ support by:

  • Developing public relations/social media outreach plans

  • Delivering extensive media relations results reports

  • Building strong media relationships
    Identifying influencers and executing social media outreach

  • Enhancing web and social media content

  • And more.

Kristen is an active member of PRSA National and PRSA Colorado.

Prior to joining LIN Public Relations Inc., Kristen worked in the Colorado State Senate as a legislative aide, and was a national speaker and educator on Constitutional Rights and policies. She lives in Northern Colorado with her husband, daughter and two black labs.



Amy Betts is a former LIN Public Relations assistant that has returned to work with the firm as a senior writer and digital strategist.  She recently returned to Minneapolis after spending the last decade in New York and Florida.

Amy has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Minnesota.  She earned her J.D from the University of St. Thomas School of Law after receiving the President’s Full Tuition Scholarship. She is licensed to practice law in Minnesota.

Amy interned with the Minnesota State Senate, Hennepin County Courthouse, and Legal Aid Society of Minneapolis.  She’s worked in marketing for the University of St. Thomas and in human resources at Target. In 2008 , she left Target to follow her husband to New York City.  There she served on several nonprofit boards in the area focusing on children and education.
